Hello. I'm so glad I found your blog. I'm a genetic female married to Lisa a MTF non-op. When I read your post it makes me feel not so alone. Navigating our way in this world is hard and trying to find others "like" us seems almost impossible. I just want to say thank you.
Peace and blessings,
Kelly

Hello,
Read about Your problems with prostate cancer and SRS. I am exactly in the same position (66 year old but in rather good shape). I´ve been in transition for 3-4 years now interrupted by my prostate cancer (surgery one year ago) with a surgery where everything was "taken out". Today I am totally ok, my PSA is zero and I have very little leakage. But anyway I am worried for SRS (which is planned late this Year). No one seems to know what might happen. As You point out the vaginal depth will be short (but the surgeon can´t say any details). What I am afraid of is other side effects no one knows about and therefore can´t tell me. What do I have to be afraid of? Do You have any good advice? I does´nt seem to be a good idea not to perform the surgery but on the other hand You are responsible Yourself of Your health (in the end)?
Cheers,
Petra

I think Sheldon and Sergio have a good point: why is a web site asking my gender at all? and if there is a legitimate reason (e.g. medical information), then a "creative" response to the gender question is inappropriate.

Hence, I think we agree: the world is not better off for having imaginative descriptions of gender.

So, how would you fill your just-born child "gender" text field?

MtF
FtM
Bi
Female
Curious
Straight
Male

How do you address a public campaign for STD's ? Will you offer condoms to MtF boys ? Will you advise for breast implant risks to FtM or MtF -or both- ? What about prostate cancer ?

How do you know to whom should you inform ?

Beyond personal likes, there are some things that -for public interest- should be discriminated.

Epic context fail.

When web sites insist on knowing your gender and offer you only "male" and "female", they're really asking "What have you got between your legs?"

What an outrageous thing for a website operator to ask me! That your agenda prohibits you from creating space for Sarah to make a website less outrageous, diminishes you. Rise up, and let others do good even when it is not the ultimate good you want.
